Historical Background

The CK718 is historically important because it was the first transistor to be produced in large quantities for commercial applications.  Raytheon introduced the CK718 in late 1952 to maintain its leadership position with hearing aid manufacturers (first established with Raytheon submini vacuum tubes).   The CK718 was produced only from 1952 through 1955 and represents a unique and important milestone in the history of transistor technology.  Your CK718 has been tested and will produce a beautiful, clear tone when used in the classic code oscillator circuit shown below (and in your insert).

Your CK718 Transistor Order Will be Supplied in the Storage/Display Envelope Shown Above, which Includes an Insert with Historical Description and Schematic.
