Raytheon seems to have been very pleased with their line of bright blue, high performance transistors.  Shown above is a pair of cufflinks, clearly designed to promote this technology.  It is likely that the cufflinks were intended to be used as a sales promotion, and may have actually enhanced the wardrobe of many of the purchasing agents active in the 1950s electronics industry.
